Baking Instructions
- Preheat the oven.
- In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the sugar, buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Slowly add the hot water to the batter and mix until smooth.
- Fold in the raspberries.
- Pour the batter into prepared baking pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely.
Frosting Instructions
- For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar and salt.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and melted chocolate chips until smooth.
- Spread the frosting between the cake layers and on top.
- Drizzle the heavy cream and reduced raspberry puree on top, and decorate with fresh raspberries.
