Ingredients

Chicken Marinade
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs skinless
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp ground paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Wrap Ingredients
  • 4 large pita bread
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 medium tomato sliced
  • 1 medium cucumber sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup tahini sauce or garlic sauce

Method

Prepare the Chicken
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, yogurt, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken thighs and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  3. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into thin strips.
Assemble the Wrap
  1. Lay the pita bread flat on a serving plate.
  2. Place a generous amount of shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, cucumber, and red onion in the center of each pita.
  3. Add the grilled chicken strips on top of the vegetables.
  4. Drizzle tahini sauce over the chicken and wrap the pita tightly around the filling.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy your Chicken Shawarma Wrap!
