Sugar Syrup
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water

Method
 

Prepare the Lemons
  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly and slice them into thin rounds, removing any seeds.
Make the Sugar Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Candy the Lemon Slices
  1. Add the lemon slices to the sugar syrup and simmer on low heat for about 45-60 minutes, until the slices become translucent.
Dry the Slices
  1. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the candied lemon slices to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them cool and dry for several hours or overnight.

  1. Once dried, store the candied lemon slices in an airtight container or use them immediately as a garnish.
